Job Title: Sr. Quality Control Technician
Job Description
The Sr. Quality Control (QC) Technician plays a crucial role in our contract job shop environment, focusing on sheet metal fabrication. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for meticulous inspection and documentation, including overseeing PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) requirements. The Sr. QC Technician is also instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within quality systems and production processes. This role requires proactive advocacy for process enhancements and encourages team members to initiate positive changes, ensuring the adoption of best practices throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
+ Perform detailed inspections and documentation, managing PPAP and ISIR requirements.
+ Drive continuous improvement in quality systems and production processes.
+ Act as a change agent by advocating for process enhancements.
+ Encourage open communication and collaboration to identify and address inefficiencies.
+ Recommend actionable improvements and champion the adoption of best practices.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum three years of experience in welding and/or welding inspection.
+ Experience in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment (not OEM).
+ Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and press brake operations.
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and internal auditing.
+ Strong customer service and quality assurance skills.
+ Experience in powder coating processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3+ years of quality experience.
+ 3+ years of GD&T experience.
+ 3+ years experience in sheet metal fabrication.
+ 3+ years experience in welding or welding inspection.
+ 3+ years of experience writing quality reports and documentation.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, with flexible start and end times as long as they align with company needs. Occasional overtime may be required on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.26/hr.
