Senior Estimator

What You’ll Do

• Prepare complete, detailed estimates for projects of varying size and complexity

• Review proposal documents, drawings, site conditions, geotechnical reports, and material/labor requirements

• Lead quantity takeoffs, pricing, and scope development

• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks to accurately understand project constraints and opportunities

• Interface with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing, clarify scope, and offer value‑engineering ideas

• Write clear, accurate scopes of work, including inclusions/exclusions and special terms

• Support business development by nurturing client relationships and attending industry events

• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager on corporate estimating functions and process improvements

• Contribute to annual budgeting, backlog forecasting, and overall business planning

• Participate in project hand‑off, kick‑off, and post‑project review meetings

• Mentor and guide Estimators and Junior Estimators, reviewing their work for accuracy

• Monitor market trends to identify future project opportunities

• Provide estimating support for change orders and ongoing construction needs

What You Bring

• Strong background in construction estimating and site development work

• Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools

• Deep understanding of construction methods, costs, and industry best practices

• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documents

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and priorities

• Team-focused mindset with a passion for mentorship and professional development

Preferred Experience

• Expertise in Civil/Site Development, including grading and utilities

• Familiarity with Agtek, HeavyBid, or similar estimating programs

• Experience working across multi‑discipline project types

• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and partners

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
