    Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct routine floor audits of production and packaging areas to confirm product composition, specification, storage, packaging, labeling, and coding.

    + Assist in completion of compliance checks for production runs at scheduled frequencies using either paper or electronic records, covering weights, case checks, label verifications, case verifications, product coding requirements, and customer-driven testing.

    + Monitor facility activities with daily inspections and complete pre-operational swabbing and quality program records daily.

    + Report quality-related failures or potential food safety issues to the quality manager and department managers, ensuring follow-up is documented and relayed.

    + Assist the QA Assistant Manager with execution of sales and customer sample request programs.

    + Initiate 'hold product' procedures for products manufactured out of specification and communicate with affected departments regarding disposition and status.

    + Initiate 'defective material reports' for unusable products supplied by vendors.

    + Maintain and inspect retain samples for product quality issues.

    + Execute environmental monitoring, product testing, chemical testing, and glass inspections for the facility.

    + Complete data entry for laboratory and production results.

    Essential Skills

    + Quality assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.

    + Knowledge of GMP and audit processes.

    + Experience with batch record review and quality checks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.

    + Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

    + Previous experience with Deacom, RedZone, or other ERP systems.

    + Basic understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.

    + Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a manufacturing floor environment where the technician will frequently move between mixing/blending rooms and the production floor. The role requires spending the majority of the shift on their feet, with moderate noise levels. Candidates must be willing and able to lift over 20lbs. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm. The company offers a close-knit, family-type culture and is located near downtown amenities. Benefits include holiday pay for six standard holidays and accruable PTO annually.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
