    Job Title: Foundry EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled Foundry Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing and optimizing manufacturing processes with a particular focus on aluminum castings in a permanent mold setting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on involvement in the production environment, ensuring the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.

    + Analyze manufacturing process flows for quality enhancement, cost reduction, and throughput improvement.

    + Understand basic metallurgy principles and their impact on aluminum casting production.

    + Apply solidification techniques to improve casting output and reduce scrap.

    + Enhance throughput in machining production castings without compromising part quality through gating and gating removal understanding.

    + Collaborate with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange purchases, and evaluate products based on quality standards.

    + Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the production department.

    + Support company policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and good manufacturing practices.

    + Lead cross-functional projects within the area of responsibility.

    + Recognize personal capabilities and take initiative for continuous improvement.

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

    + Experience in metallurgy, particularly aluminum metallurgy.

    + Hands-on involvement and ability to work well with the team.

    + Solidification modeling expertise is a plus.

    + Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools (e.g., MAGMASOFT, SolidWorks).

    + Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys, heat treatment, and casting metallurgy.

    + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    + 3+ years of experience in aluminum casting or foundry operations, with permanent mold experience preferred.

    + Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing concepts.

    + Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

    Work Environment

    This is a full-time, on-site role located in Racine, WI. The Foundry Engineer will work extensively on the production floor, interacting with cross-functional teams to ensure industry standards and safety guidelines are consistently adhered to. The work environment fosters a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $50.48/hr.
