The Order Entry/Customer Service Pharmacy Technician is responsible for order entry and triage. This role involves picking up incoming calls and directing them appropriately. The technician will interact with LTC Facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians, receiving drug orders via faxes and other forms, and answering medication-related questions. The triage process includes reviewing patient profiles and deciding on order placements, highlighting pertinent information on digital forms, and processing them for order entry. The role requires handling about 15-30 calls per day, calling on new LTC facility admissions, and resolving order issues by understanding the Automatic Dispensing Unit. During order entry, the technician processes medication orders at a rate of 40-45 per hour. This is a straightforward and repetitive role.
Responsibilities
+ Handle order entry and triage efficiently.
+ Manage incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
+ Communicate with LTC Facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.
+ Receive and process drug orders via faxes and other forms.
+ Answer questions related to medications.
+ Review patient profiles and decide on order placements.
+ Highlight pertinent information on digital forms for order processing.
+ Handle approximately 15-30 calls daily and manage new LTC facility admissions.
+ Resolve order issues by reviewing and understanding the Automatic Dispensing Unit.
+ Process medication orders at a rate of 40-45 per hour.
Essential Skills
+ Registered Pharmacy Technician with the state of MN (national certification not applicable).
+ At least 6 months of pharmacy experience in a retail or LTC setting.
+ Experience with order entry and triage in a pharmacy setting.
+ Proficiency in typing orders and knowledge of SIG codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working in retail environments such as CVS, Walgreens, or similar.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Familiarity with data entry processes.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment with approximately 12 teammates, each having their own cubicle. The setting is quiet, production-based, and repetitive. Team leads and managers are nearby for support. Shifts include morning (8-4:30 pm), mid (10:30-7 pm), and late (2:30-11 pm), with initial training during mid-shift. Availability for all shifts is required, with weekend shifts every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staff schedules. The role involves 50% phone work, mainly with nurses and providers, and 50% data entry. The environment is technology-driven, with a startup feel, and allows for schedule predictability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
