    Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer

    Job Description

    As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will design and develop control systems for custom automated assembly and test equipment. You will lead software design and development efforts from concept through customer acceptance, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and a high-tech customer base.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the software design and development for custom automated assembly and test equipment.

    + Architect, write, simulate, and debug structured ladder logic for Allen-Bradley PLCs.

    + Create intuitive and efficient operator interfaces using Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk and Ignition platforms.

    + Program, simulate, and deploy a range of Fanuc robots to perform complex automation tasks.

    + Develop and integrate advanced machine vision solutions using Keyence and Cognex technologies.

    + Lead the commissioning and debugging of prototype systems with diverse automation technologies.

    + Support validation, final acceptance, and global deployment of automation systems.

    + Provide occasional long-term remote and onsite support to ensure successful system integration and operation.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-10 years of hands-on experience as a Controls or Robotics Engineer in industrial environments.

    + Proficient in programming industrial control systems with Allen-Bradley.

    + Strong experience in multi-station PLC programming and system integration.

    + 3+ years of automation expertise with exposure to factory automation and production systems.

    + Bachelor's degree in mechanical, automation/robotics, or systems engineering.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Proficiency with machine vision technologies including Cognex, Keyence, and Fanuc vision systems.

    + Strong understanding of electromechanical and mechatronic systems.

    + Familiarity with electrical codes and industrial safety standards.

    Work Environment

    This is an on-site, in-person role requiring direct collaboration with engineering and production teams. The work environment includes on-site design, CNC, and manufacturing, with everything done in-house. The dress code is casual attire, and the role may occasionally involve client-facing interactions. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8-5, with flexible hours.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
