Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent to join our team for a comprehensive hospital renovation project in Halifax, VA. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a significant project lasting upwards of three years with one of the leading general contractors in the Hampton Roads area. The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, and have over two years of experience in a similar role with a general contractor.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee and manage other staff members involved in the project.

+ Coordinate and manage all trade partners and subcontractors.

+ Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols.

+ Assist in the complete renovation process of the hospital build.

+ Utilize Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, and scheduling software for project management.

+ Interpret and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent with a general contractor.

+ OSHA 30 certification.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera, Phoenix).

+ Ability to read and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Federal project experience is advantageous but not required.

+ Experience with projects exceeding $1M in value.

+ Experience with Building Information Modeling.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Conditions may vary, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment. The position is supported by a small family-owned company that operates like a large general contractor, offering a vehicle allowance, technology package, two weeks of paid time off, and ten holidays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Boston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
