    Job Title: Technical WriterJob Description

     

    The Technical Writer/Reviewer is responsible for developing, editing, and reviewing clear, compliant technical documentation that supports operational, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with subject matter experts to translate complex technical processes into accurate, user-friendly documents while ensuring alignment with internal standards and applicable regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Author, revise, and review technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, manuals, validation documents, protocols, and reports.

    + Ensure documents meet internal quality standards, style guides, and regulatory expectations.

    + Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture accurate technical content and work closely with various departments to understand content requirements.

    + Develop user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience and organizational standards.

    + Perform document review for clarity, consistency, completeness, and compliance.

    + Support document change control and version management.

    + Identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing documentation and recommend improvements.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience in technical writing.

    + Experience with SOPs, GMP, and FDA regulations.

    + Experience with writing and optimizing protocols and change controls.

    + Experience in computer system validation and quality systems management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with audits and inspection readiness.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based on-site in Durham, NC, within a start-up environment at a state-of-the-art facility recently acquired by a financially strong gene therapy CDMO.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
