    Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working closely with both software and hardware teams to develop and document code that supports the system control and monitoring of our innovative products. The ideal candidate will have experience with radio or TV transmitter studio equipment and/or system control and monitoring of electro-mechanical systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop software solutions by conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and anticipating problem areas utilizing the software development lifecycle.

    + Determine operational feasibility by evaluating problem definitions, requirements, and proposed solutions.

    + Document and demonstrate solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

    + Stay updated with state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.

    + Support the organization by providing advice, coaching, and participating in product/system design reviews.

    + Report any quality problems or defects to management to implement corrective actions.

    + Adapt duties as needed to meet business requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical discipline.

    + 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with demonstrated success in developing a variety of software systems.

    + Proficiency in developing and troubleshooting complex software systems in mixed environments, including Linux, Unix, and Windows.

    + Experience with TCP/IP debugging and ICDs.

    + Experience configuring and using Linux, C/C++, TCP/IP networking, and web development with JavaScript, Node.js, and GTK+3.x.

    + Hands-on experience with lower-level communication protocols, high power lab/test equipment, schematics, and board-level parts.

    + Active DoD issued Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with DSP, AJAX, SOAP, Ant, Servo motor tuning, PLC Ladder Diagrams, NTP, Subversion, Git.

    + Experience in writing embedded/Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) globally distributed applications.

    + UI and human-computer interaction design using GLADE, React, Ignition, or similar.

    + Experience modifying, designing, developing, and debugging device drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, GPIO.

    + Proficiency in scripting tools such as Python, BASH, Lua, CSH, Perl, TCL/TK.

    + Experience with virtualization and simulation tools like Git, SVN, Jira, Buildroot, OpenEmbedded.

    + Experience with automated tests and optimizing builds.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
