    Job Description

    The BMS & EPMS Systems Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle design, programming, documentation, integration, and commissioning support of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) in hyperscale data centers. This role requires deep expertise in both mission-critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure, including HVAC controls, chilled water topologies, power quality analysis, metering integration, and telemetry mapping.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, program, and document BMS and EPMS for hyperscale data centers.

    + Integrate and commission systems with a focus on mission-critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

    + Conduct power quality analysis, including THD, harmonics, and waveform distortion.

    + Implement and monitor chilled water systems and white space cooling strategies.

    + Execute metering integration and telemetry mapping.

    + Collaborate on controls documentation using AutoCAD or Bluebeam.

    + Perform integration testing and commissioning.

    + Write advanced Sequences of Operations (SOOs) for airflow and thermal optimization.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in BAS/BMS controls design and EPMS engineering.

    + Strong understanding of chilled water systems and data center electrical distribution.

    + Proficiency in BACnet/IP, Modbus/TCP, and TCP/IP networking.

    + Power quality analysis expertise.

    + Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for controls documentation.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with Schneider PME.

    + Data center or mission-critical facility experience preferred.

    + Familiarity with Google-specific controls and EPMS documentation/standards.

    + Ability to interpret Google EPMS standards.

    Work Environment

    The position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite work in Michigan City, Indiana. Travel and lodging costs will be covered and a per diem will be provided. The role offers the flexibility to return home on weekends if the project schedule allows. Initial project phases will require more onsite presence, which will decrease as the project progresses.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
