Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description:
This role is hands-on and execution-oriented, involving robotic cell setup and tuning, WAAM process development, path planning, integration with power sources, and supporting early production and demos. This position is essential in operationalizing WAAM cells, focusing on building, testing, iterating, and producing rather than purely research and development.
Responsibilities:
+ Setup and tune robotic cells for optimal performance.
+ Develop WAAM processes and plan paths for robotic systems.
+ Integrate robotic systems with power sources effectively.
+ Support early production phases and demonstrations.
+ Contribute technically to make WAAM cells operational.
+ Participate in building, testing, and iterating processes.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in robotic programming and industrial robotics.
+ Proficiency in robotic automation, especially with KUKA or similar systems.
+ Experience with WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) processes.
+ Understanding of additive manufacturing techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with any WAAM process variant is acceptable.
+ Experience with tools like Grasshopper is a plus.
+ A proactive, 'roll up your sleeves' attitude.
Work Environment
+ The position is on-site, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, located around shipyards.
+ The work environment is dynamic and involves a lot of trial and error, making it a unique opportunity to develop a company from the ground up.
+ This position will provide a clear path to Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager as the team grows.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Portsmouth, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
