Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant with at least one year of experience to join our dynamic team. This role involves working in the autonomic specialty clinic within the Neuromuscular building, where new employees begin as 'roomers'. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, and eventually receiving training in care coordination such as scheduling appointments and handling medication authorizations. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a large hospital organization, without the need for specific specialty experience.

Responsibilities

+ Room 25 patients daily and take vital signs.

+ Assist in care coordination by scheduling appointments with multiple departments.

+ Manage prior authorizations for medications.

+ Demonstrate initiative and motivation while functioning as a team player.

Essential Skills

+ Medical assisting experience of at least one year.

+ Patient care and rooming skills.

+ Proficiency in taking patient vital signs.

+ Familiarity with medical terminology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with EPIC software is a plus.

+ Ability to learn quickly and show initiative.

+ Experience in appointment scheduling.

+ Medical Assistant Certification/Diploma.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Environment

The position is located within a fast-paced Neuroscience center, working from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with no weekend shifts. Expect a busy environment, typically handling 25 patients per day, providing a robust experience within a large hospital setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
