Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob Description

The Construction Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for managing day-to-day field operations and ensuring successful delivery of assigned projects on time, on budget, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role coordinates subcontractors and vendors, enforces safety, maintains schedule and logistics, ensures design intent is met, and serves as the primary field interface with the Project Manager and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

+ Review contract documents, plans, and specifications; identify constructability issues and participate in preconstruction planning.

+ Develop and maintain site logistics plans, phasing, laydown areas, and equipment plans aligned with project requirements.

+ Lead daily coordination of all trades and crews; sequence work to meet milestones and critical path schedules.

+ Conduct daily huddles/toolbox talks and weekly coordination meetings; capture and distribute action items.

+ Validate installed work for conformance to drawings/specifications and quality standards; escalate RFI/ASI needs promptly.

+ Enforce OSHA and company safety standards; conduct regular inspections, correct hazards, and document safety activities.

+ Ensure regulatory, permit, and inspection compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

+ Build and update 3-week look-ahead schedules; coordinate manpower, equipment, deliveries, and inspections.

+ Verify quantities, track production, and support cost control through accurate reporting and proactive issue resolution.

+ Issue daily reports (manpower, activities, deliveries, inspections, safety, weather) and maintain site logs and photos.

+ Meet regularly with the Project Manager to review progress, risks, changes, and upcoming work.

+ Represent the project professionally with owners, designers, and inspectors.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years supervising commercial and/or residential construction as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role.

+ Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings; strong understanding from sitework through MEP.

+ Proven success managing multiple subcontractors and priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ OSHA 30-Hour; First Aid/CPR (strongly preferred).

+ Proficiency with field technologies (plan viewers, RFIs/submittal platforms, daily report apps).

+ Experience delivering CM/GC projects emphasizing preconstruction involvement and value engineering.

+ Exposure to sustainability practices is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment involves fieldwork at different project sites, including Palisades, NY (New Build/Renovations) and Newburgh, NY (Mixed Use/Multifamily) with retail stores on the bottom level and apartments on top. The environment requires the use of technologies such as Procore and Bluebeam for project management. Dress code and safety gear compliance is necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
