    Job Title: EHS Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team on the 2nd shift. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing and maintaining EHS policies, practices, and procedures within our manufacturing assembly plant. The position is ideal for a professional with a robust safety engineering background, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist with the implementation and development of EHS policies, practices, and guidelines.

    + Identify location-specific requirements and participate in program and policy development.

    + Develop and conduct training programs to comply with regulatory and corporate EHS initiatives.

    + Supervise incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are completed.

    + Conduct EHS audits and risk assessments, and participate in external compliance audits and loss prevention audits.

    + Coordinate completion of corrective actions resulting from audits and assessments.

    + Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls.

    + Oversee and implement permitting requirements for air, water, and land jurisdictional needs.

    + Serve as a site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

    + 3-5 years of experience in safety engineering, with a background in ergonomics and manufacturing.

    + Extensive knowledge of health and safety engineering processes and practices.

    + Familiarity with ISO environment regulations and principles.

    + Skill in evaluating and minimizing physical and chemical hazards.

    + Awareness of changes in laws and regulations.

    + Strong teamwork and project leadership abilities.

    + Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.

    + Proficiency in verbal and written communication.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in manufacturing large equipment, CNC, and heavy fabrication.

    + Experience with machinery/safety lock out tag out procedures.

    + Environmental experience dealing with hazardous or non-hazardous waste.

    + Union experience is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a full manufacturing assembly plant equipped with machines and robotics. The facility operates as a union environment, and you will interact with all departments. The position is on the 2nd shift, where minimal leadership is present, requiring the ability to think quickly and work independently. The schedule offers flexibility with options for four 10-hour shifts or four 9-hour shifts with a half-day on Friday.

    This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, KY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $38.46/hr.
