Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. This role will focus heavily on Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL, working closely with stakeholders across analytics, engineering, and business teams.

You’ll play a key role in shaping data architecture, improving performance, and ensuring data reliability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric

+ Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for analytics and reporting

+ Model data using Lakehouse, Warehouse, and semantic models within Fabric

+ Support and enhance Power BI datasets, reports, dashboards, and data refresh strategies

+ Implement data transformation and ingestion processes (ETL / ELT)

+ Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security best practices

+ Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

+ Optimize performance across Fabric workloads, SQL engines, and Power BI models

+ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting issues

+ Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to data standards and best practices

Requirements

Required Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering

+ Strong hands-on experience with SQL (performance tuning, indexing, query optimization)

+ Experience working with Power BI datasets, semantic models, and DAX fundamentals

+ Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Warehouses, Pipelines)

+ Experience designing data models for reporting and analytics use cases

+ Understanding of data governance, security, and access controls

+ Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with Azure data services (Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL, ADLS)

+ Knowledge of DAX optimization and Power BI performance tuning

+ Experience with data versioning, CI/CD, or DevOps for analytics solutions

+ Familiarity with Python, Spark, or notebooks within Fabric

+ Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale BI environments
