Description We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to oversee and support container and trucking operations in Port Newark, New Jersey. This contract position offers the potential for permanent employment and requires a proactive individual who can manage logistics efficiently while maintaining clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. The role involves ensuring smooth dispatch processes and addressing any issues that arise during daily operations.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate container and trucking moves, including pick-ups, deliveries, and scheduling appointments, while ensuring driver assignments are managed effectively.

• Monitor driver progress and load statuses, providing assistance to resolve operational challenges when needed.

• Update and maintain dispatch systems with accurate load and container information.

• Track and analyze operational metrics such as on-time performance, driver productivity, container turnaround times, and exposure to demurrage or detention fees.

• Generate concise daily and weekly reports to support dispatch operations and leadership decision-making.

• Identify and escalate recurring trends, bottlenecks, or operational issues to the dispatch manager.

• Ensure thorough documentation of dispatch activities and move details to maintain accuracy and compliance.

• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, terminals, and internal teams to facilitate seamless execution of logistics operations. Requirements • Proven experience in dispatching, preferably in container and trucking operations.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle communication across various stakeholders.

• Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems and logistics coordination.

• Ability to multitask and resolve operational issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in creating and maintaining reports and spreadsheets for tracking purposes.

• Solid analytical skills to identify trends and improve operational processes.

• Excellent organizational skills to ensure documentation and move details are accurate and complete.
