Description

We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer /Bookkeeper to join our team in Concord, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to assist primarily with individual tax returns, bookkeeping, and other financial tasks. The ideal candidate will be proficient in tax preparation and bookkeeping, with a strong command of relevant software tools.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy with applicable regulations.

• Handle a small percentage of business tax returns as needed.

• Manage bookkeeping tasks for 4-5 clients, including creating profit and loss statements.

• Utilize software tools such as Drake Tax Software and QuickBooks to perform tax and bookkeeping functions.

• Process tax documents for schedules A through E, catering to middle-class and high-net-worth clients.

• Perform occasional data entry related to the insurance side of the business.

• Coordinate the pickup and delivery of financial documents to and from business clients.

• Collaborate with clients to ensure timely completion of all financial tasks.

• Maintain organized records and provide updates on tax and bookkeeping activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in tax preparation, specifically individual returns.

• Proficiency in bookkeeping, including creating profit and loss statements.

• Familiarity with tax software such as Drake Tax Software and QuickBooks.

• Active certifications CTEC or credentials relevant to tax preparation.

• Ability to handle schedules A through E and related forms.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Reliable transportation for occasional client document deliveries.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
