Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a short-term contract position offering an opportunity to contribute to full-cycle accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role requires someone with a strong attention to detail, a solid background in accounting, and proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries and general ledger management.

• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately allocated to the correct general ledger accounts.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

• Review and clean up accounting records, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and My Quick Cloud to manage financial data efficiently.

• Collaborate with the team to address discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

• Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making.

• Maintain adherence to deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting roles.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and familiarity with My Quick Cloud.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.

• Expertise in bank reconciliations and account reconciliation.

• Ability to work in an office environment, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
