Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract position, you will play an integral role in managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a strong background in full-cycle accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoices to ensure they are properly matched with purchase orders, coded accurately, and authorized appropriately.

• Process vendor and inter-company accounts payable invoices in a timely and efficient manner.

• Generate vendor payments, including checks, wires, and emergency manual payments, adhering to the business calendar.

• Address vendor payment inquiries with professionalism and reconcile vendor statements as needed.

• Organize and maintain both physical and digital vendor files to ensure accessibility and accuracy.

• Compile and prepare 1099 information to meet filing requirements and deadlines.

• Support other business functions by providing assistance to the accounting team and collaborating with other departments.

• Promote adherence to established accounting policies and procedures among field office personnel.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the company’s safety and quality enhancement initiatives.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Requirements • Associate's degree in accounting or business is required.

• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable processing.

• Ability to efficiently complete duties in both office and remote work settings.

• Proficiency in modern office practices, filing systems, and accurate business correspondence.

• Strong commitment to organizational success and exceptional customer service skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Capability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively under pressure.

• Familiarity with accounts payable processes, vendor file maintenance, and 1099 form preparation.
