Position Summary:
An experienced RN with a Master’s degree, or Psychiatric Nurse Manager or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), or Master’s Level Behavioral Health Clinician with extensive clinical and administrative experience in Psychiatric Services. The BHUCS Administrative Director oversees, with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, the daily operations of a 7-7, 7 day per week, BH Urgent Care service. Patients will be served from a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. Predominantly administrative in nature, this full-time position also includes clinical practice requirements. Under the guidance of the senior clinical management team and in collaboration with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, the Administrative Director will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the department’s ongoing service delivery system and redesign efforts.
Clinical Operations Responsibilities (performed in collaboration with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health):
+ Develops and implements changes to clinical workflows and practices to support the department’s ongoing BH crisis intervention, stabilization and practice guidelines.
+ Develops monitoring systems to support the delivery of high quality, safe and effective behavioral health urgent care.
+ Establishes, implements and oversees the efficacy of clinical protocols.
+ Designs, implements, and oversees the department’s performance improvement efforts.
+ Reviews and revises existing policies, procedures and clinical protocols and develops new ones as indicated.
+ With the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, continually assesses and modifies the staffing necessary to support the delivery of high quality, safe and effective behavioral health emergency care.
Administrative/Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ Provides guidance, support and supervision for the care delivery team comprised of RNs. MAs, and clerical staff across all three shifts.
+ Under the direction of the Medical Director provides guidance and support to the provider staff comprised of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and behavioral health clinicians across all three shifts.
+ In collaboration with RN, MA and clerical leadership, establishes, implements and maintains standards for each discipline.
+ Provides direct support, ongoing education and leadership mentoring to the designated triage nurses responsible the patient flow on the floor.
+ Develops an ongoing staff education program for each discipline.
+ Represents the BHUCS at key NeighborHealth meetings (e.g. Clinical Administrative Directors) and committees (e.g. Infection Control, Performance Improvement, Joint Commission Subcommittee, Emergency Operations Planning Committee)
+ In collaboration with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, plans the agenda and provides reports for the monthly departmental review meeting with Senior Administration.
+ Develops and manages the department’s dashboard (visit data, staffing patterns, and other indicators as appropriate)
+ In collaboration with CBHO/VP and Medical Director, identifies, evaluates and implements methods to optimize operating costs, distribution of personnel and workflow.
+ Collaborates with the Medical Director and Finance Team in developing the departmental annual budget and monitoring monthly expense reports.
Clinical Care:
+ Provide direct patient care appropriate to the role of the NP/PA or RN, whichever applies, within the BHUCS.
Other:
+ Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
+ Promote a sense of “team work” through demonstration of self-
+ direction and self-motivation. Solve problems independently or knows when to seek consultation.
+ Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with all EBNHC customers according to the ACE model.
+ Adheres to all EBNHC and departmental polices and procedures.
+ Participate in required departmental activities and meetings.
+ Perform other related duties.

+ Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, CMS Pace Program Regulations and Standards, applicable State regulations and guidelines, ESP policies and procedures and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at NeighborHealth;
+ Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
+ Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
EDUCATION:
+ Licensed Registered Nurse with Master’s Degree (MBA/MNA/MHA/MPH/MSN) or
+ Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant or
+ Master’s Level Behavioral Health Clinician licensed or licensed prepared
EXPERIENCE:
+ Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Behavioral Health Urgent Care Medicine.
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience ideally in a BH Urgent Care or Emergency Department in Critical Care
+ Experience applying Lean concepts to clinical workflows a plus
+ Experience serving a diverse patient population preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word; Electronic Medical Records)• Spanish Language fluency preferred, but not required.
Salary:
+ Starting at $119,291 and up to $135,928 per year based on experience.
