Qualifications

Experience Required: Experience in Interventional cardiology and Intravascular imaging (IVUS, OCT, NIRS) and strong publication record in cardiovascular research.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: The main goal of the research is to develop personalized approaches to treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease using artificial intelligence in order to improve long-term patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Details of Research Project: Dr. Nakao will participate in a series of research studies characterizing the effects of different lipid-lowering therapies on coronary lesions using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The responsibilities in this research will include developing study protocols, creating and maintaining study database, quantitative and qualitative image analysis, statistical analysis, and manuscripts preparation.

Technical Duties: NA

Educational and other Requirements for the position: Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) and previous research experience with first-author publications in the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
