The Senior Business Manager for Specialty Additives (Coatings, Inks & Adhesives) owns the strategy, growth, and lifecycle management of Solstice’s additives portfolio. This role will lead the growth platforms — Surface Finishes and Waterborne Direct-to-Metal Adhesion, primarily defining the market strategy, leading cross-functional execution, driving data generation programs, and partnering closely with regional sales teams and key customers to accelerate adoption of Solstice technologies.

+ Own the global growth strategy for Surface Finishes and Waterborne DTM Adhesion

+ Identify attractive segments, end-markets, applications, and customers to drive above-market growth.

+ Assist in building 3–5 year strategic plans (STRAP) and ensure alignment with product line, sales, marketing, and R&D.

Voice of Customer & Market Discovery

+ Conduct continuous VOC and observational VOC with key industry stakeholders

+ Map customer decision journeys and uncover high-value problems where Solstice can differentiate.

+ Conduct segmentation and prioritize opportunities using TAM/SAM/SOD analysis.

    Value Proposition & Competitive Positioning

+ Develop clear value propositions vs. next-best alternatives (e.g., silica, other adhesion promoters).

+ Support global sales teams with technical selling points, case studies, and competitive comparisons.

+ Identify high-value coatings and adhesives conferences globally and lead Solstice’s participations strategy – technical presentations, speaking opportunities, and collaboration with customer marketing to develop external collateral and launch material. Ensure strong, consistent promotion of Solstice’s growth platforms at key industry trade shows and events.

New Offering Development & Data Generation

+ Define product requirements for new additive technologies and manage cross-functional NPI processes.

+ Lead testing programs with R&D and external consultants (e.g. adhesion, corrosion resistance, UV/DPUR studies).

+ Drive launch readiness, documentation, regulatory requirements, and commercialization milestones.

    Business Models, Pricing & Financials

+ Set value-based pricing strategies for new offerings informed by competitive benchmarks and customer economics.

+ Build financial models (revenue, margin, ROI) and drive portfolio profitability improvements.

+ Partner with Sales to support negotiations and define strategic account pricing frameworks.

    Commercial Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership

+ Partner with Sales Directors, Account Managers, Technical Managers, and Distributors to drive adoption of new offerings.

+ Support customer trials, product qualifications, and long-cycle OEM approvals.

+ Lead internal cadence (MOS), VOC recaps, growth pillar updates, and launch governance.

    Business Development

+ Explore new markets, applications, and adjacent opportunities for additives within coating, inks & adhesives segment.

+ Identify strategic partnerships, technical collaborations, and joint development opportunities to expedite adoption of new offerings (e.g. NduroMatt)

+ Support M&A or technology scouting when relevant.

    Qualifications

    YOU MUST HAVE

+ Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, marketing, business or related field.
