    Job Description and Duties

    Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I over the Customer Support Unit (CSU), the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT SUP II) provides leadership and technical expertise in a diverse range of tasks that require innovative problem-solving when guidance is not readily available. The IT SUP II operates at a full supervisory level, managing the daily operations of the CSU, which serves as the frontline for implementing many policies of the Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB). The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the work of Help Desk staff, coordinating support with other ITSB sections as necessary. Additionally, the incumbent develops and maintains policies and procedures related to Help Desk operations for customers. They also perform various analytical activities to support complex information technology systems and teleprocessing networks. The primary responsibility of the incumbent includes overseeing the Help Desk work order ticket system. The IT SUP II will perform duties in the Client Services, Business Technology Management, and Information Security Engineering domains.     Working Conditions

    The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division.

The California Energy Commission seeks a/an Information Technology Supervisor II in the Administrative and Financial Management Services Division / Information Technology Services Branch / Customer Support Unit.
