    Company Description

    At Fulmer/Perma-Cast; our focus is on building high-quality Transportation & Power Generation Brush Holders, Permanent Mold Castings, Specialty CNC Machining and Manufacturing at competitive prices and extending personalized service to Fulmer/Perma-Cast (Wabtec’s) customers. We are ISO certified and this position is a Monday through Friday, on site position requiring occasional overtime. Set up and operates a variety of machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, special purpose and other distinct machines and machining centers and some conventional equipment. Also sets up and adjusts machine tools including preset.

    Job Description

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Produces and assures quality of parts (utilizing necessary measuring gages and equipment) and machine parts on all machines.

    • Operates CNC lathes and mills and multiple machining centers

    • May operate conventional machines as needed

    • Reads and studies blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instruction such as feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, fixtures and cutting tools to be used.

    • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications

    • Programs and/or edits CNC machinery

    • Adhere to Wabtec Code of Conduct

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

     

    • Minimum 2 years experiences in CNC operations and conventional machining.

    • This position requires accuracy and responsibility as many duties must be performed without close supervision.

    • Training and/or experience using measuring equipment and reading drawings is needed.

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Must be able to perform shop math calculations and read and interpret blueprints and work orders

    • Fanuc control experience desired

    • Journeyman or apprentice papers preferred.

     

    Ability to read and interpret safety rules and work orders.

     

    • Overtime may be required, and employees are expected to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate this need.

    • Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to meet production demands

    • Ability to work unsupervised.

    • Performs varied machining operations largely on standard work having close tolerance and finish specifications.

    • Capable of performing edits to CNC programs.

    • Sets up, adjusts and operates standard and special types of machine tools.

    • Working knowledge of cutting tools and materials.

    • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.

    • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.

    • Employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and clearly. Present Technical information.

    • Employee needs to be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

    • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.

    • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.

    • Employee may be required to climb ladders, and other equipment.

    • Employee is regularly required to wear mask covering nose and mouth, steel toed shoes safety goggles at all times.

    • The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

    • Requires intermittent face-to-face interaction with employees on production line.

     

    Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)

     

    • The employee will work at times in a temperature-controlled environment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

    Additional Information

     

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $19.00-22.00 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
