Resident Care Aide (RCA)

The Highlands at Pittsford- Laurelwood & Laurel Way Assisted Living community is seeking friendly, caring, and professional individuals that have a passion for caring for others. Our Laurelwood care team is responsible for providing exceptional care to our residents.

Essential Functions

+ Provides direct care to our residents.

+ Provide direction, and support to resident care staff, handle resident emergencies and communicate appropriately with health care providers and families.

+ Listen and respond to residents’ concerns and report issues to the proper discipline.

+ Assists residents with their personal care, including giving gentle reminders, and assistance with grooming.

+ Assists in administering and passing medication to residents, based on their personal care plan.

+ Assists in with washing, and folding of resident’s laundry, as assigned.

+ Participates in daily, monthly, and annual light housekeeping duties.

+ Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.

+ Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.

+ Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.

+ Adheres to all policies and procedures of The Highlands at Pittsford.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior experience in resident care and/or other related fields is required. Prior knowledge of proper procedures of medication and administration experience is required.

Varied day & evening shifts available: 6:30am-3pm and 3 pm-11pm. Including every other weekend and Holiday rotations.

*Generous shift differentials offered*

The following RCA positions are available:(1) RCA 3– FT, Day, 6:30am-3pm, including every other weekend, 37.5 hrs. week.(1) RCA 3– FT, Evening, 3pm-11pm, including every other weekend, 37.5 hrs. week.(1) RCA 3-PT, Day, 6:30am-3pm, including every other weekend, 24 hrs. week.

Pay Ranges vary based on RCA role- NE, $17.00/hr.- $23.20/hr. *Experienced based pay.
