Job Title: School Nurse

Employment Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday, School Bell Schedule

Position Summary:

The School Nurse(RN/LPN) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the nursingprocess and delivering individualized student care within the schoolenvironment. This role ensures that all services are provided in alignment withphysician orders and in accordance with the standards, policies, and philosophyof both the School District and Amergis Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide direct, individualized medical care to a specific student with complex health needs during the school day, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and managing medical equipment.

+ Implement and follow the student’s Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

+ Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate first aid or emergency interventions, including seizure management, respiratory support, or diabetic care.

+ Document daily care and health observations accurately and maintain communication logs for parents, school personnel, and healthcare teams.

+ Support the student’s participation in educational activities by ensuring their health needs are met during classroom time, transportation, field trips, and other school functions.

Minimum Requirements

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Current LPN/RN license in the state which services are being provided

+ One year of school nurse experience, preferred

+ One-year pediatric experience, preferred
