    *Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Main Pulmonary Procedures*

     

    The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring a safe, efficient surgical environment. This position assists with preparing and maintaining procedure rooms, transporting patients, managing supplies, and providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. PCTs contribute to smooth workflow, timely case turnovers, and uphold high standards of patient safety and comfort.

     

    *The ideal candidate for the Patient Care Technician (PCT) position in Main Pulmonary Procedures will have at least one year of hands-on patient care experience in a healthcare setting. BLS or CPR certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.*

    Utilizes time efficiently by completing assigned responsibilities; checks with ANM or OR Schedule Coordinator for additional tasks when free.

     

    Organizes workflow to contribute to on-time starts and efficient case turnover; uses resources wisely (time, materials, supplies, equipment).

     

    Maintains stability under pressure and handles crises professionally.

     

    Puts away all supplies and equipment after each case.

     

    Demonstrates cost-awareness, participates in cost-saving strategies, and avoids waste.

     

    Completes annual self-appraisal with appropriate documentation.

     

    *Essential Performance Functions*

     

    Prepares and maintains the surgical environment for assigned patient(s).

     

    Provides direct patient care according to performance standards.

     

    Cleans and turns over the OR, preparing for the next patient per standards.

     

    Performs transport and supply responsibilities according to standards.

     

    Cleans the OR after the last case and prepares the room for closure per standards.

    *EDUCATION*

    * Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

    *WORK EXPERIENCE*

    * Preferred: One year of hands-on patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

    *LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS*

    * Preferred: BLS or CPR by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.

    *OTHER REQUIREMENTS: *Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
