Division: Office of Health, Life & Annuity/Health Forms
The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking anInsurance Specialist 4 to join the Office of Health, Life & Annuity/Health Forms Division. This division plays a key role in reviewing health insurance policy and form filings to ensure compliance with Louisiana insurance laws, rules, and regulations. In this position, you’ll review complex filings, research insurance laws, provide guidance to other staff, and support leadership in regulatory decision-making. Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR
An advanced degree plus two years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As anInsurance Specialist 4 in the Office of Health, Life & Annuity/Health Forms Division, you will/may:
+ Review complex health insurance policy and form filings to ensure they comply with Louisiana insurance statutes, rules, and regulations.
+ Stay current on changes in insurance laws and regulatory requirements and apply that knowledge to form reviews and regulatory decisions.
+ Research and respond to advanced or complex questions from insurance companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders regarding health insurance laws and form requirements.
+ Lead and support investigations related to health insurance form filings and regulatory inquiries.
+ Serve as a lead worker by providing guidance, mentoring, and technical support to lower-level Insurance Specialists.
+ Analyze legal and regulatory information, make recommendations, and advise division leadership on health insurance form and policy issues.
+ Prepare clear, professional written correspondence explaining regulatory requirements, decisions, and next steps to interested parties.
+ Meet with division leadership, including the Insurance Manager and Deputy Commissioner, to discuss complex filings and regulatory matters.
+ Collaborate with other LDI divisions and external partners to support consistent application of insurance laws and regulations.
+ Assist with special projects, reports, and other related duties as assigned.
