WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The **Continuous Improvement Engineer** is a key position in our **Lockeford, CA** branch. The position develops and implements continuous improvement principles and processes of a precast concrete manufacturing plant. While this is an intermediate-level professional individual contributor position, we’re looking for that continuous improvement engineer professional eager to grow a career in an exciting company, doing exciting stuff and share special or technical information with others..
**Reporting to the Plant Manager,** you’ll primarily work with a team of operational leaders, onsite and engage with varies employees, supervisors, and departments to continuously improve our processes and practices that can be sustainable for long term consistency and growth.
Starting Salary Range is between $72,000 to $85,000 annually. This position is salaried and exempt. This position is eligible for annual short term bonus plan.

You have experience working with Lean and Six Sigma projects and initiatives Your willingness to participate and engage in a team environment. You are proficient in database administration and computer programs related to manufacturing and analytics. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to work with high autonomy in a rapidly changing and evolving environment. You’re safety conscious not just for yourself, but for your team.
Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of this role are to develop and implement continuous improvement activities throughout the operation. The selected candidate will also be responsible to various teams through events, provide analyses and feedback on key metrics, projects, budgets, and timelines. While this is an individual contributor position, we’re looking for that engineer eager to grow a career in an exciting company, doing exciting stuff.
Principle Accountabilities
+ Reviews department productivity and partners with operations to develop action plans to improve performance
+ Directs or conducts studies to ascertain the best sequence of operations or workflow.
+ Coordinate and drive a structured process to close follow-up actions from assessments and audits.
+ Plan and facilitate achievement of cost savings objectives through various Lean and Six Sigma projects and initiatives.
+ Collect and analyze production data, develop and track KPI’s at the Plant level for improvement opportunities.
+ Create continuous improvement suggestion system and ensure it’s used daily and actionable items are implemented quickly.
+ Execute continuous improvement ideas visibly and functionally with display boards to meet KPI goals.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
+ Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in process improvement preferably in the manufacturing arena and demonstrated experience helping an organization bring newly developed products to market.
+ Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication. Willingness to work in a Team environment.
+ Experience leading and participating in CI events with firm understanding of kaizen tools (Such as value stream maps, fishbone diagrams, PDCA, and SMED)
+ Lean Six Sigma certification (or the ability to acquire green belt certification within six months)
+ The ability to work with a high degree autonomy in a rapidly changing and evolving environment
