Disney Theatrical Group seeks a passionate and collaborative **Summer Associate** to support the Labor Relations Department. The Summer Associate will assist with administrative workload and help prepare for three major upcoming negotiations in 2026 - the AEA Touring Agreement, AFM Pamphlet B, and IASTE Pink. The Summer Associate will gain hands‑on application of labor law to theatrical CBAs, exposure to union relations, planning strategies for negotiations and grievance meetings, and executive‑ready legal writing experience.
What You Will Do:
+ Assisting in handling grievance and arbitration meetings
+ Assisting in negotiations preparation, including proposal drafting
+ Building and maintaining department logs/trackers/calendars.
+ Taking notes and scheduling follow‑ups at producer–union meetings.
+ Helping organize files, maintain document libraries, and ensure accurate record-keeping for labor-related matters.
+ Drafting memos, summaries, and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders concerning complex CBA rules.
+ Researching projects concerning historical contract provisions, and comparisons to how other theatrical industries worldwide operate (UK, EU, Japan, etc.)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ Superior written and oral communication skills
+ Proficiency with Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
+ Coursework in labor and employment law, entertainment business, entertainment law, or intellectual property
+ Interest in entertainment business or entertainment law, with theatre interest, a plus
Education:
+ Currently enrolled in JD Program
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
+ Must provide full work availability from June 1 through August 14, 2026
+ Must provide own housing and transportation, position is located in New York City.
