    UPMC Community Care Behavioral Health (Community Care) is hiring a full-time Senior Recovery/Resiliency Specialist. This hybrid role includes onsite work at Community Care locations, as well as travel throughout local communities and across Pennsylvania. Candidates may reside anywhere within Pennsylvania.

     

    The ideal candidate will have prior experience in recovery and/or advocacy roles with adults, youth, and/or families of children and youth involved in behavioral health services. Lived experience is a strong asset. This individual must present in a polished and professional manner and demonstrate the ability to effectively work with and communicate across all levels of an organization, including senior leadership and external stakeholders such as providers and government officials.

     

    The Senior Recovery/Resiliency Specialist is responsible for development and implementation of recovery and resiliency focused programs for Community Care Behavioral Health Organization (Community Care) of the UPMC Insurance Services Division. Using the principles outlined below, the incumbent is responsible for working with a team to create new programs, working with existing staff to support programs that have already been put in place, reviewing existing programs to determine how to incorporate wellness, recovery and resiliency principles more effectively, representing Community Care at various stakeholder meetings and being an ambassador for both Community Care and for recovery in all actions. The position requires the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, design and implement strategies for introduction of recovery tools and programs to members, providers and other stakeholders. It has been emphasized that each individual's journey to recovery and wellness is a deeply personal process, as well as being related to an individual's community and society. The following features or signs of recovery have often been proposed as core elements to which all persons aspire: Hope, Secure infrastructure (e.g., housing, food, freedom from violence, etc.), Supportive relationships, Empowerment and Inclusion, and Coping strategies/supports

    Responsibilities:

    + Represent Community Care at stakeholder meetings, include with policy makers

    + Collaborate with providers and other stakeholders to support implementation of and support of recovery and resiliency programs

    + Work with Community Care staff to develop care management models that support wellness, recovery and resiliency

    + Work with care management leadership to assure that staff have access to information that informs clinical thinking in regard to recovery and resiliency.

    + Interfaces with other local and regional organizations around recovery programs

    + Participates in provider trainings on recovery/resiliency/wellness

    + Communicate concepts that can shared to broad internal or external audiences and, if desired, published in peer review.

    + Interface with internal and external partners.

    + Assist with the development of recovery and resiliency focused programs, including leading the development of specified programs

    + Advises on needed components of the continuum of care

    + A master's degree in behavior, behavioral sciences, behavioral economics or related fields is preferred but experience working in a recovery/advocacy environment is accepted in lieu of a degree.

    + 10 years related experienced required

    + Lived experience is strongly preferred.

    + Certification as a Peer Specialist, Recovery Support Specialist, Family Support Specialist, and/or Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner is a bonus.

    + Prior experience training in recovery and wellness practices (e.g., wellness coaching, advanced directives, WRAP, CommonGround, etc.) is a bonus.

    + Capable of managing complex, multi-stakeholder endeavors
