    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY (Sanford Job Description)

     

    The Medication Safety Officer coordinates the medication safety program across Sanford Health through partnerships with the enterprise Medication Safety Committee, regional Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees, Regional Medication Safety Committees, the Risk Committee, and the Quality Cabinet. Responsible for the quality and safety of medication administration by all employees at all facilities. Leads in the standardization of the medication safety program and in building a culture of medication safety throughout the enterprise.

     

    Preferred onsite location Marshfield, WI but other pharmacy locations may be considered.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION (Sanford job description)

     

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Master’s degree in related field.

    EXPERIENCE (Sanford job description)

    **Minimum Required:** Two years of experience preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations. Successful completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency is preferred.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

    Minimum Required:

    + License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice.
