    The Director of Data & Analytics provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise data, analytics, and reporting capabilities within a healthcare organization. This role is responsible for transforming clinical, financial, and operational data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, reduce cost, ensure regulatory compliance, and support value-based care initiatives.

     

    The Director partners closely with clinical, operational, finance, compliance, and IT leaders to establish data governance, analytics strategy, and advanced reporting that enables data-driven decision-making across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership

    + Define and execute the enterprise data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals and healthcare regulatory requirements.

    + Lead and develop high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, reporting, and data science.

    + Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on analytics-driven opportunities, risks, and performance trends.

    + Champion a culture of data literacy and evidence-based decision-making across the organization.

    Data Architecture & Engineering

    + Oversee design, development, and optimization of data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based analytics solutions.

    + Ensure reliable integration of data from EHRs, claims, financial systems, population health platforms, and external data sources.

    + Establish scalable, secure, and high-availability data pipelines and architectures.

    + Responsible for the design, architecture, and support of data movement (integration, interfacing, FTP, API).

    Analytics & Insights

    + Lead development of analytics solutions supporting:

    + Clinical quality and outcomes

    + Population health and care management

    + Financial performance and cost containment

    + Operational efficiency and access

    + Value-based care and risk-based contracts

    + Oversee dashboards, KPIs, predictive models, and self-service analytics tools for stakeholders.

    + Translate complex analytics into clear insights for executive and clinical audiences.

    Data Governance & Compliance

    + Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, data standards, and data quality management.

    + Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, and other federal and state regulations.

    + Partner with compliance, security, and privacy teams to safeguard sensitive healthcare data.

    Stakeholder & Vendor Management

    + Collaborate with clinical leadership, finance, operations, and IT to prioritize analytics initiatives.

    + Manage relationships with analytics vendors, cloud providers, and consulting partners.

    + Evaluate and implement analytics tools, BI platforms, and emerging technologies.

    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

    + 8+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, or BI roles, with at least 3–5 years in leadership.

    + Healthcare domain experience (provider, payer, life sciences, or digital health).

    + Strong knowledge of healthcare data sources (EHR, claims, quality measures, financial systems).

    + Experience with modern analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

    + Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

    + Demonstrated experience with data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience supporting value-based care, population health, or risk adjustment.

    + Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, HCC, and quality reporting standards.

    + Experience with advanced analytics, predictive modeling, or AI/ML in healthcare.

    + Strong executive communication and change-management skills.

    EDUCATION:

    A Bachelor's, Master's degree preferred in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
