Position Specific Description
The Associate Wind Technician is an entry-level role within the NextEra Energy team responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance activities of wind turbines at Coram Wind II near Mojave, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist senior technicians and engineers in performing routine inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks on wind turbines, including the mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
2. Collaborate with the team to identify and troubleshoot turbine issues and malfunctions to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
3. Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance activities, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and bolt torque checks.
4. Conduct basic tests and measurements using various tools and equipment to assess turbine components and system performance.
5. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with turbine operations and maintenance.
6. Document all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and observations made, for record-keeping and future reference.
7. Assist in maintaining inventory levels and acquiring necessary equipment, tools, and spare parts.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting ideas to enhance operational efficiency and optimize turbine performance.
9. Stay updated with industry best practices, technical advancements, and safety regulations related to wind turbine maintenance.
Job Overview
Employees in this job perform warehouse management, business duties, environmental insepctions, safety inspections, and other ancillary duties to help support operations at a wind site. The successful candidate will ensure efficient handling, storage, and transportation of parts and materials required for wind turbine maintenance and operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Under direct supervision:
+ Performs parts and inventory management including adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Act policies and procedures
+ Transports equipment, tooling, and parts to and from technicians and contractors in the field with assistance
+ Performs safety and environmental inspections directed by site leadership
+ Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
+ Manages own training schedules and meets training requirements of the position
+ Ability to meet attendance requirements
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
+ High School Grad / GED
+ Experience: 0+ years
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associate's or Equivalent Experience
+ Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
The estimated base pay for this position is $44,000.00 to $66,000.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
