The **Associate Director, MSL Communications** , will be responsible for the development and execution of the MSL Communications Strategy including creation and maintenance of materials consisting of disease state education, Johnson & Johnson published data, as well as materials from congresses presentations for Hematology Oncology MSL scientific exchange.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead development and maintenance of medical communication materials for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) as needed to support the Hematology Oncology MSL team.
+ Fully understand the remit of proactive and reactive materials including those for congresses, publications, disease state awareness, prescribing information, and any other topics that materials are needed to address.
+ Liaise with stakeholders to understand MSL needs and provide solutions within compliance and regulatory confines.
+ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., MSL team members, Medical Directors, Medical Communications) to fully understand the strategic needs and identify how the MSL Comm team can meet such needs through development of specific MSL tools and resources.
+ Project management of communication materials (e.g., track prioritization, timelines and progress for communication materials including MSL proactive and reactive slide decks). Be able to utilize the Veeva system for review and storage of all materials.
+ Support slide creation and formatting from abstracts/posters/oral presentations from medical congresses and other clinical/scientific meetings for development of post-congress slide decks to be delivered to MSLs and other stakeholders.
+ Oversee quality control to ensure scientific accuracy of proactive and reactive decks and facilitate their review and approval process.
+ Stay abreast of innovations and novel formats that are being used in Medical Communications functions across industry.
+ Support the development and review of, and approval process for, compliant materials for proactive and reactive usage by MSLs.
+ Collaborate with MSL partners for additional ad hoc communication material needs.
+ Management and vendor selection as well as budget negotiations. Provide direction, feedback, and oversight to contractor(s) and vendor(s) as well as manage related budgets.
+ Track and analyze metrics of communication material use by MSLs.
+ Facilitate troubleshooting of communication material access, formatting, and function between desktop and tablet.
Qualifications:
Education:
+ A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of medical communications or medical writing experience or 6 years of related (pharmaceutical) work experience or an advanced degree (MS, PhD, PharmD) discipline with a minimum of 4 years related (pharmaceutical) work experience is required.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
+ Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into simple, digestible, and appealing visual displays.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional environments as well as ability to partner with scientists, academicians, clinicians, and vendors.
+ Detail-orientation with ability to efficiently fact-check and find errors is required.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical health care compliance environment for external communication of scientific materials, with knowledge of compliant display of scientific data.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills.
+ Experience in Word, Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Professional, and Veeva.
Highly Preferred:
+ Experience in Hematology Oncology or related therapeutic areas.
Other:
+ Up to 10% of travel may be required.
