Job Description
Hybrid 3 days/week (Tues - Thurs) to Charlotte, NC / Hartford, CT / Columbus, OH
Define solution blueprints and application layering (ECS), class structure, ruleset/versioning, and integration patterns.
Facilitate DCO (Directly Capture Objectives) sessions to shape epics/stories with clear acceptance criteria and NFRs.
Review feature designs for guardrail compliance, scalability, and maintainability; approve complex rule strategies.
Run design reviews and enforce coding standards, reusable components, and rule modularity.
Monitor application health via PDC/PAL/Tracer, address performance hotspots, and guide indexing/caching strategies.
Own security posture: ABAC/RBAC, authentication/SSO, encryption, and auditability across cases and data pages.
Model case lifecycles (stages/steps), decisioning and business rules; design data pages (modes/scopes) and persistence.
Define integration contracts (REST/SOAP, queues, eventing), error handling and retry policies; oversee connector implementations.
Partner with front-end teams on DX API usage, composable UI, and accessibility standards.
Shape CI/CD pipelines: product packaging, ruleset promotion, deployment automation, and environment synchronization.
Coordinate configuration and migration plans across dev/test/stage/prod; validate rollback and recovery strategies.
Translate technical trade-offs for business/product leaders; provide clear status and risk callouts.
Align architecture decisions with roadmaps, compliance requirements, and SLA commitments.

Skills and Requirements
PEGA Lead System Architect (LSA) certification (current) and 7–10+ years of Pega Platform experience
Proven track record leading enterprise-scale Pega implementations (multi-app programs, complex case orchestration)
Deep expertise in Pega application layering, class structure (ECS), and rule resolution mechanics
Mastery of case lifecycle design (stages/steps), decisioning, business rules, and workflows
Strong command of data modeling in Pega: data types, data pages (modes/scopes), persistency, and referencing patterns
Experience establishing guardrails, coding standards, and architecture governance (reviews, compliance, technical debt management)
Hands-on performance engineering: PAL, PDC, Tracer, DB index strategy, queue processors, and requestor management
Integration architecture using REST/SOAP connectors, messaging (JMS/Kafka), authentication/SSO, and error handling patterns
Expertise in security and access control: roles/privileges, attribute-based access, authentication/authorization, auditability
DevOps & CI/CD for Pega: pipeline design, product packaging, ruleset/versioning strategy, deployment automation, environment promotion
Experience with App Studio vs. Dev Studio collaboration and scalable low-code enablement for business teams
Agile delivery leadership: DCO (Directly Capture Objectives), backlog shaping, story decomposition, and acceptance criteria definition
Excellent documentation skills: solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, non-functional requirements (NFRs), and runbooks Experience driving Pega upgrades (e.g., 8.x to latest) or cloud migrations (on-prem → Pega Cloud)
Background in Decisioning/Customer Service (CDH, Next Best Action) or Industry frameworks (Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare)
Designing for high availability and resiliency: node strategy, stateless patterns, queue throughput, and failover planning
Familiarity with DX API, composable UI, and front-end integration patterns
Building and scaling a Pega Center of Excellence (CoE): patterns library, reusable components, and governance processes
Coaching and mentoring SSAs/CSAs, performing design reviews, and leading technical communities of practice
