Summary:
Meta is seeking a Network Operations Engineering Manager to lead our Edge and Network Services (ENS) Foundation NetOps team. In this role, you will provide both technical and people leadership, driving operations and innovation across our global network infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing and developing a team, setting strategic direction, and partnering with cross-functional leaders to deliver business-critical outcomes at scale.

1. Lead, mentor, and grow a team of network operations engineers, fostering an environment of technical expertise, collaboration, and continuous learning
2. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career development for direct reports
3. Manage the team’s response to major incidents and site events (SEVs), ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis for edge, caching, and network infrastructure
4. Develop and implement strategies to improve incident response processes, reduce operational risk, and enhance network reliability
5. Own and evolve change management processes, ensuring security, business continuity, and compliance across Meta’s network infrastructure
6. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, collaborating with partner teams to design robust processes for data and asset protection
7. Represent ENS in cross-functional forums, influencing the design and integration of new technologies and infrastructure
8. Build and maintain key partnerships with internal business teams, external vendors, and engineering leaders to align on priorities and deliver critical projects
9. Drive continuous improvement in operational policies, processes, and procedures to optimize efficiency, quality, and scalability
10. Champion automation initiatives, working with engineering teams to ensure Tier-1 network faults are remediated by software and operational toil is minimized
11. Define and track key metrics for operational performance, vendor management, and service quality
12. Use data to inform strategy, prioritize investments, and communicate impact to leadership and stakeholders
13. Provide clear, transparent communication on team goals, progress, and outcomes to all levels of the organization
14. Share lessons learned and best practices to drive organizational learning and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications:

15. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
16. 8+ years of experience in network engineering, data center infrastructure, or large-scale network deployment, including hands-on responsibility for planning, building, or operating production or lab networks
17. 3+ years of people management experience leading engineering or technical operations teams responsible for network deployment, reliability, or site infrastructure
18. Experience managing external vendors or MSPs, including establishing expectations, monitoring SLAs (service level agreements), and holding vendors accountable for quality and timelines
19. Practical experience and knowledge of network, optical, and physical layer infrastructure in hyperscale environments
20. Demonstrated experience in communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams and external partners
21. Demonstrated experience to drive operational programs from inception to delivery, using metrics to convey impact

22. 10+ years of combined experience across network deployment, lab infrastructure operations, or data center environments
23. 5+ years of people leadership, including scaling a team, mentoring engineers, and establishing operational processes
24. Experience implementing automation or tooling for network deployment, provisioning, or infrastructure operations (e.g., Ansible, Python, internal orchestration systems)
25. Expertise in project management and continuous improvement methodologies
26. Experience managing SLAs (service level agreements) and driving improvements against operational metrics at scale
27. Familiarity with data center design, cabling, fiber optics, and facility infrastructure
28. Experience operating in a large-scale, global environment with complex cross-functional dependencies (e.g., hardware engineering, production engineering, site operations, and field service/vendor performance management)
Public Compensation:
$162,000/year to $227,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
