Job Description

The Sr. Operational Tech Lead will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions with a primary focus on AWS infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS services, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities to guide cross-functional teams. Experience with MLOps practices is highly desirable to support machine learning workflows and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:

o Lead architecture design and implementation for scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS environments.

o Provide guidance on best practices for cloud operations, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

• AWS Engineering:

o Hands-on development and deployment using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, EKS, S3, SageMaker, Step Functions.

o Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

o Optimize cloud resources for performance, reliability, and cost.

• Operational Excellence:

o Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies for production systems.

o Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows.

• MLOps (Preferred):

o Collaborate with data science teams to deploy and maintain ML models in production.

o Implement ML lifecycle management tools (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker pipelines).

o Support reproducibility, experimentation tracking, and automation for ML workflows.

• Collaboration & Communication:

o Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

o Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

8+ years in Cloud Engineering with at least 5 years in AWS-focused roles

Proven track record in leading technical teams (at least 3 engineers)

Strong proficiency in AWS services and architecture

Expertise in Terraform, Python and CI/CD tools

Exposure to MLOps practices highly preferred
