    Job Description

    Our client in the environmental space is seeking a Project Manager with an active Marine Turtle Permit for an upcoming project. This role involves daily monitoring and documentation of sea turtle nesting activity along designated beaches, including identification of nests, species determination, and categorization of false crawls. The position requires compliance with protocols outlined in the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission Marine Turtle Conservation Handbook and adherence to reporting requirements from FDEP, USFWS, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Responsibilities include biological sampling, nest marking for equipment avoidance, and monitoring lighting, escarpments, and nesting seabirds within project boundaries. The job also entails managing survey zones, compiling data for the Beach Management Agreement area, and submitting required FWC spreadsheets and reports. Candidates must hold a valid FWC Marine Turtle Permit and work collaboratively with a team to ensure accurate data collection and reporting. This role will pay $30-48/hr based on experience.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 5 years of experience as an Environmental Project Manager

     

    - Active Marine Turtle Permit through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission

     

    - 1 year of experience working hands on with seat turtles
