Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Configuration Analyst to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system.
This position is responsible for analyzing organizational configuration management requirements, managing weapons systems configurations, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and supporting users for compliant systems configurations. Additionally, this position will coordinate with multiple organizations within the program on the processing of engineering change requests for the Strategic Weapons System (SWS). Candidates will be expected to work both independently and as a part of a team in a hybrid environment.

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor s degree in engineering and 2 years professional work experience or equivalent related experience.
Additional skills/experience required:
+ Experience in establishing and/or maintaining configuration management and consistency of a systems product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its entire life cycle
+ Experience processing, monitoring, and conducting configuration analysis of full lifecycle engineering change requests, while ensuring accuracy and compliance to configuration management policies and processes.
+ Experience reviewing functional plans and technical data items to ensure all configuration management requirements have been addressed and properly integrated within the requirements defined within the Program CM plan(s) and processes.
+ Experience coordinating the evaluation, approval/disapproval, and implementation of configuration changes throughout the life cycle of assigned programs.
+ Experience supporting the preparation of, maintenance of, and recommended changes to program specific directives, policies, and processes.
+ Experience coordinating, facilitating, and/or conducting customer supported configuration audits for assigned programs to include formal plans and reports.
+ Ensure configuration management documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with SSP directives and procedures
+ Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with little direction
+ Experience with Microsoft Office application (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor s degree in engineering and 4 years professional work experience or equivalent related experience
+ Familiarity with SAE ANSI/EIA-649C Configuration Management Standards
+ Experience working with government contracts
+ Experience with evaluating or conducting SPALTs, UK Alterations (UKALTs), and NAVSEA Alterations (TRIDs) for impacts to TRIDENT II SWS preventive and corrective maintenance paper and electronic maintenance documentation
+ SSBN technician with TRIDENT II SWS deployed experience is a plus
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
