We are seeking a Technical Instructor who embraces challenges and is a motivated self-starter. This position will be an integral part of a diverse team of instructors and subject matter experts fulfilling challenging technical training requirements for Naval Special Warfare (NSW) and other customers. They will conduct formal in-house, on-site, and informal training to support end-user training needs including final user guides, source material, manuals, drawings, equipment lists, and warranty information. The Technical Instructor will assist in providing course material for class participants including comprehensive user packages, quick reference guides, component manuals, and system warranty information. They will conduct continuous reviews of curriculum material to ensure relevancy to the customer. Additionally, using the course critique sheets and instructor evaluation forms, modify the delivery of instruction and curriculum material to continue process improvements and course relevancy.
The following duties are typical of the position:
1. Responsible for the instruction and delivery of approved training support packages, train the trainer, and end users.
2. Assist with the development of curriculum and the tracking methods of configuration management.
3. Equipment testing of training assets and the coordination of repairs beyond operator maintenance.
4. Develop and submit analytical briefs and/or reports.
5. Initiate minor and initial corrective action measures to support shortfalls identified in training.
This position is located in Chesapeake, VA, there is no relocation assistance available for this position.
Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to the Chesapeake, VA area.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of work experience or Associate Degree and at least 8 years of work experience or High School diploma and at least 10 years of related experience
Professionalism, problem-solving skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
Technical Military NEC/MOS
Military Instructor Course (NEC 9502 or equivalent)
Tactical or Shipboard radio operations and/or maintenance experience (SATCOM, LOS, MANet, and HF)
COMSEC equipment operations/maintenance experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarity with US Special Operations Forces and DoD customer organizations
Master Training Specialist certification or equivalent
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, to include the Teams environment, Access, Publisher, and Project
Proficient with Adobe, to include FrameMaker, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat DC
Tactical, or Shipboard MUOS operations and maintenance experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
