• Student Worker, Customer Service

    Job Description

    The Student Worker, Customer Service manages a variety of shipments and addresses customer concerns. This position requires superior customer service skills as well as the efficient utilization of resources including effective customer, service center, and field communication to make decisions that resolve urgent transportation-related scenarios.

    Responsibilities

    * Other duties and projects, as assigned.

    * Identify customer requirements to generate quotes tailored to their shipping needs.

    * Provide accurate information regarding multiple services and solutions offered by ArcBest.

    * Schedule pickup requests and submit rate corrections.

    * Handle a large volume of interactions through multiple channels including phone, email, and chat.

    * Provide tracking updates and communicate delivery modifications.

    * Maintain effective lines of communication with internal and external customers.

    * Create bills of lading (BOL's) and provide shipment-specific documentation.

    * Use multiple systems and programs in support of customer needs and expectations.

    Requirements

    Education:

    * Currently pursuing a college degree.

    Experience:

    * No prior experience necessary

    Computer Skills:

    * Proficient understanding of PC and mainframe computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs, required

    Other Details

    Work Hours:

    * This is a part-time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 6:00 am - 8:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload and school schedule.

    Travel Requirements:

    * Minimal (0-25%)

    Compensation:

    * This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
