    Direct Buyer Specialist – Aerospace Procurement

    **Schedule:** Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

    **Job Type:** Full-Time, Consultant (12-Month Contract Only)

    **Pay Rate:** $32.35/hour

     

    About the Role

     

    PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced **Direct Buyer Specialist** . In this high-impact role, you will be at the center of procurement operations, ensuring materials arrive on time, meet quality standards, and align with cost targets that keep production moving.

     

    You’ll act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams, applying strong negotiation, cost analysis, and problem-solving skills to support mission-critical aerospace programs. Your work will directly influence delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

    What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)

    + Execute end-to-end procurement activities including RFQs, purchase orders, engineering changes, work transfers, and metrics reporting

    + Manage purchasing of goods, materials, supplies, and services in alignment with business objectives

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for production teams regarding order status, changes, or cancellations

    + Analyze material quotes and financial data to support pricing and sourcing decisions

    + Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules; oversee payment approvals

    + Coordinate with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages or delays

    + Own supplier relationship management for assigned commodities, ensuring contract compliance

    + Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Program teams to resolve supply chain issues

    + Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to avoid production disruptions

    + Support delivery assurance activities to maintain service and delivery expectations

    + Apply continuous improvement principles to enhance procurement performance

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + Experience executing procurement processes including RFQs, PO placement, and supplier coordination

    + Ability to manage medium-to-complex supply chain issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

    + Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and pricing decisions

    + Proven ability to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and cost control **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.**

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Proficiency with SAP and ERP-driven procurement systems

    + Aerospace industry experience and familiarity with industry standards

    + Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes

    + Demonstrated experience driving process improvement and operational efficiency

    + Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables), plus PowerPoint and Tableau

    + Experience sourcing and procuring a broad range of commodities

    + Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle complex supplier discussions

    **Pay Details:** $32.35 per hour
