As a Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst, you’ll manage a portfolio of customer accounts and own the end-to-end process that drives timely cash collection, reduces past-due balances, and supports strong working capital performance. You’re a proactive problem solver who thrives on collaboration—partnering across teams to resolve disputes, improve billing quality, and create a seamless payment experience for our customers. If you’re solutions-oriented and enjoy working cross-functionally, you’ll excel in this role. You bring customer empathy, analytical depth, and a drive for continuous improvement, balancing great judgment with clear communication across Finance, Sales/CSM, and Customer AP.
In this role, you’ll oversee complex accounts, lead detailed reconciliations, and apply data-driven insights to strengthen collection strategies. You’ll work directly with customer Accounts Payable teams as well as internal partners in Sales, Customer Success, Billing Operations, and Revenue Accounting to resolve issues quickly and accurately. Success in this role means balancing attention to detail with a customer-first mindset—delivering accurate outcomes while fostering trusted relationships that keep cash flowing smoothly.
You will:
Key Responsibilities:
+ Own an AR portfolio and execute a disciplined collections cadence, including outreach, reminders, and executive escalations when warranted.
+ Lead account reconciliations for complex customers and resolve short‑pays, misapplied cash, credits, and billing discrepancies.
+ Manage structured dunning cycles, payment commitments, and payment plans; document and track follow‑through to closure.
+ Coordinate closely with Billing Operations, Revenue Accounting, and Sales/CSM on POs, invoice corrections, credits/rebills, refunds, and supporting documentation to accelerate payment.
+ Provide analytical reports for leadership and assist in directing focus areas for collections during month end and quarter end.
+ Recommend and support service suspensions for non‑payment in line with policy and customer communication standards.
+ Partner with Cash Applications to clear exceptions and ensure accurate, timely application of customer remittances, including statements and remittance advice handling.
+ Produce and present portfolio health reporting (aging, DSO, CEI, risk segments), provide root‑cause analysis on delinquency, and propose corrective actions.
+ Support internal and external audits with evidence, logs, and control documentation (e.g., approvals, reconciliations, write‑offs, refunds).
+ Maintain high data quality for customer records (contacts, remittance details, portals, tax/doc links) and proactively identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
+ Contribute to and maintain SOPs/Playbooks; coach junior analysts and act as a subject‑matter expert for complex scenarios.
About you:
+ 5+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable/Collections experience with ownership of a significant customer portfolio.
+ Strong command of AR concepts: credit memos, write‑offs, unapplied cash, short‑pays, disputes, statements, and refunds.
+ Proven success in driving down past‑due balances via structured dunning, payment plans, and stakeholder alignment.
+ Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling) and strong data storytelling for executive‑ready summaries.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to customers (AP) and internal stakeholders; calm under pressure.
+ Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization, follow‑through, and documentation discipline in a case/ticket workflow.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with subscription/SaaS billing models and customer portals (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Taulia, Tungsten).
+ Hands‑on with Workday Financials or similar ERP, and Salesforce case workflows for AR/Billing collaboration.
+ Familiarity with collections platforms such as Tesorio (or similar) for portfolio workflows, notes, and action tracking.
+ ERP: Workday (or equivalent) for invoice, credit, and cash application visibility.
+ CRM/Case: Salesforce for Inbox‑to‑Case routing, cross‑team collaboration, and audit trails.
+ Collections: Tesorio for collections cadences, portfolio workflows, communications, and metrics.
+ Productivity: Excel/Sheets, Slides, Docs; plus customer payment portals as required.
+ Success Metrics:
+ DSO at or below target for assigned portfolio.
+ CEI improvement and sustained portfolio currentness (e.g., Current and 1–30 buckets).
+ Reduction in 60+/90+ aging balances and overall bad debt exposure.
+ SLA adherence for case response/resolution and timely documentation of activities.
+ Positive stakeholder feedback (customers, Sales/CSM, Billing Operations, Revenue Accounting).
Nice to Have (Role‑Enhancers)
+ Experience building AR dashboards (e.g., Tableau/Looker/Power BI) and writing SOPs.
+ Background working with auditors and evidence requests for AR/Collections cycles.
