Summary:
+ Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the specialty assigned at the direction of the Nurse Manager. The Specialty Team Coordinator ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services, leadership and management of the nursing unit at the direction of the Nurse Manager. This position assists the Nurse Manager in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care. This position assists the Nurse Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient's clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. The Specialty Team Coordinator assists the Nurse Manager in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives. The Specialty Team Coordinator assists the Nurse Manager in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development. ***Float*** Float to Monroe ASC, MAP ASC, and Main OR Provide clinical support Staff rooms as needed Provide resource utilization
Responsibilities:
+ The Specialty Team Coordinator will be accountable for assisting in:
+ Providing quality patient care/services delivered within the unit/function including customer service, management
+ Manage specialty surgery schedule preventing conflicts with resources.
+ Makes recommendations for required resources to enhance services and the delivery of care.
+ Pursues learning and takes responsibility for remaining current with business trends and innovative industry practices.
+ Utilizing resources in a fiscally responsible manner: Works within established financial guidelines
+ Facilitates, monitors and evaluates the use of supplies, materials and other resources to reduce costs and increase efficiencies maintains oversight of supply ordering and par levels.
+ Responsible for oversight of preventive maintenance on equipment related to specialty and clinical troubleshooting when needed during procedures.
+ Is visible on operational shifts identified by the Nurse Manager and invites conversational with team members.
+ Responsible and proficient in mentoring staff in roles of circulator and/or scrub for the specialty areas supervised
+ Responsible for ongoing and yearly education in-services to staff that enhance staff’s engagement and understanding of the specialty.
+ Responsible for written annual performance reviews in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Educator.
+ Facilitates policies and procedures that support the specialty for provision of services at the direction of the Clinical Manager.
+ Assumes charge role on unit and facilitates daily selection of staff assignments as needed.
+ Actively coaches and assesses staff competency in the OR rooms and assist the Nurse Manager in providing a supportive environment for each team member’s professional growth and development.
+ Communicates consistently and effectively with staff: Supports monthly staff meetings with published minutes and attendance sheets in conjunction with Nurse Manager.
+ Assists the Nurse Manager and Education Department in identifying opportunities for staff development in relation to the specialty including the orientation process and planning.
+ Responsible for ensuring that departmental functions in relation to the specialty are in compliance with established regulatory agency standards.
+ Actively supports and involved in research initiatives to promote, validate, and evaluate current patient care standards.
+ Responsible for journal club - provide one article of interest twice a year on specialty for team in-service discussions.
Credentials:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
+ Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
+ Cert RN Operating Room
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
+ Education Specialization:NursingEquivalent Experience:•And 1+ years Operating Room experience.•

Salary Range:
$45.12 - $65.56/Hourly
