    Role summary:

    As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving innovation across infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML integration.     This team oversees talent management activities for all 2.2 million Walmart associates, ensuring effective development and support across the organization. They focus on delivering scalable, resilient solutions by leveraging advanced technologies and cloud-native principles. The team drives continuous improvement through data-driven practices, collaboration, and innovation. Members contribute to software development, infrastructure, and tooling that enhance productivity and associate experience. They engage with stakeholders to translate complex needs into actionable plans, maintaining high standards of quality and integrity. This group fosters technical growth and operational excellence to support Walmart’s mission and business objectives.

    What you'll do:

    + Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.

    + Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

    + Design and develop AI-driven applications integrating ML components to support automation and multi-step reasoning.

    + Lead system design reviews ensuring quality, feasibility, and alignment with architectural best practices.

    + Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and success metrics.

    + Continuously improve processes, tools, and products by embracing innovation and adapting to change.

    What you'll bring:

    + Proficiency in Java, Python, React Native, React JSX, and Spring Boot for software development and AI/ML integration.

    + Experience with cloud-native architectures, including Azure Cloud Services, microservices, containers, and automation.

    + Strong knowledge of API design, NoSQL databases, and scalable, maintainable software solutions.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and monitoring.

    + Proven technical leadership and mentorship skills to support team growth and architectural decision-making.

    + Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

    + Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to engineering best practices.

    The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

    Minimum Qualifications...

    Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
