About the Team
At Nutanix, our Enterprise Security team is a dynamic and diverse group comprising over 40 talented members located across the globe. This team is committed to enhancing the cybersecurity integrity of our organization while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. As a Senior Staff Security Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to provide critical analysis, contribute to global security initiatives, and spearhead continuous improvement efforts. The culture within the team thrives on collaboration, engaging closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally, to effectively drive our security initiatives. In this capacity, you will act as a trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing essential guidance and championing initiatives that enhance our security posture.
You will report to the Manager, Security Engineering, who is committed to empowering team members through mentorship and clear communication. Our work setup is designed for flexibility, with the role being fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere. Additionally, there are no travel requirements for this position, enabling you to focus entirely on your contributions to the team and our security objectives without the need for frequent travel.
Your Role
Security Engineer - IT Security
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering a vulnerability management solution globally across a hybrid infrastructure. As a Vulnerability Security Engineer, you will be expected to be skilled at developing and assist in the deployment and operation of a vulnerability management solution. The ideal candidate will also need to effectively execute project/initiatives to address gaps, demonstrate excellent judgement, prioritization and communication of technical security risks, and act as a security liaison supporting business units.
Key Responsibilities may include:
+ Develop and maintain a vulnerability management solution and roadmap in order to mitigate threats and risk across the organization’s assets.
+ Provide expert consultative services on vulnerability risks and remediation across the different business units.
+ Define security baselines and standards for the vulnerability management program inclusive of processes leveraging CIS benchmarks or NIST framework.
+ Evaluate and perform risk assessments on assets to be prioritized within remediation timelines based off of severity.
+ Maintain and communicate an up-to-date knowledge of the latest threat landscape and

+ Must be well organized and able to leverage best practices, able to thrive in fast-paced environment, and, most importantly, have the ability to approach problems with an innovative, can-do attitude.
+ Be a strong thought leader and clearly communicate and build support for your ideas across the different organizational units.
+ Experience working with vulnerability management tools such as Qualys, Rapid7, Tenable, InsightVM, metasploit.
Additional Qualifications
+ BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Systems preferred.
+ 1-2 years' experience in Vulnerability Management preferred.
+ CISSP,SANS/GIAC, MS-500 certificates preferred.
Work Arrangement
Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ and USD $ per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
