    Role Summary:

    The Senior Buyer position is a driven, detail-oriented role responsible for selecting and procuring quality products and services. In the Senior Buyer role, the responsibilities will include maintaining supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, limited supplier negotiations, tracking orders, generating reports, and creating and maintaining product catalogs and standard ordering procedures and liaising with the Procurement team / Internal Stakeholders. Experience with a Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform such as Workday, or any other P2P platform, as a heavy end-user, technical owner, implementer, buyer or system administrator is strongly preferred. Applicant must have strong communication skills, strong analytical skills, organized, and the ability to multi-task and interact with leadership across the organization. Must be able to work in a team environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Purchasing Support

    + Provide transactional support of requisitions, POs, and invoices to ensure accuracy.

    + Establish and maintain P2P Workday catalogs, including products and services descriptions, images, and pricing, along with coordinating with the supplier, procurement team peers, and business users.

    + Compile metric/reporting on all category transactional activity.

    + Enable suppliers by setting up the appropriate PO structure to capture spend details in Workday.

    + Track and report on supplier related issues, failures, and quality defects.

    + Work as a team with other Buyers to cover temporary vacancies and develop buying strategies that can be duplicated throughout the department.

    + Development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures; Train others on P2P system and Procurement processes and tools.

    Customer Service / Order Management

    + Promote Workday/P2P user adoption by improving catalog usability with established, preferred suppliers.

    + Cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships while actively seeking new partnerships to enhance product offerings.

    + Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms on select commodities.

    + Manages day-to-day supplier relations and escalations; Communicate updates and issues to leadership and internal stakeholders both verbally and written form.

    + Ensure that deliveries take place as scheduled and that suppliers’ invoices are reconciled timely.

    + Work closely with AP department to ensure all invoice exceptions and matching are taken care of in a timely manner.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Collaborate with departments to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.

    + Participate in cross-functional teams to implement new initiatives and improve overall efficiency.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.

    + Workday ERP and EIB knowledge preferred. Procure-to-Pay solution experience a plus

    + Proven experience as a buyer. (3+ years)

    + Ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Familiarity with inventory management systems and system governance.

    + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    + CPSM or CSCP Certification is a plus

    + Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.

    + Team player with strong leadership capabilities.

    + Keen awareness of industry trends and customer preferences.

    + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

    + Ability to accept and adapt to change.
