Job Summary

Join us at Becton, Dickinson and Company in advancing health worldwide as a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing. Lead global direct category strategies and manage procurement for multiple categories including packaging, rubber and glass.

Key Responsibilities

+ Devise and apply category strategies that align with our business aspirations

+ Manage supplier relationships through conducting performance evaluations, contract negotiations, and nurturing long-term partnerships

+ Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and R&D teams to understand needs and synchronize procurement tactics with business objectives

+ Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives

+ Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to find opportunities

+ Monitor category performance and report on cost optimization and value creation goals

+ Champion creative thinking and challenge the status quo to drive procurement excellence

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification preferred

+ 5+ years of procurement experience, focusing on direct materials in a regulated industry (preferably medical devices or pharmaceuticals)

+ Shown strength in ERP systems, preferably SAP

+ Proven track record in supplier management, cost control, and strategic sourcing

+ Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in leading strategic negotiations and completing complex contracts

+ Ability to inspire change and influence cross-functional teams

+ Demonstrates strong relationship-building capabilities and exhibits a positive demeanor
