    Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division’s JetPipe® electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provide leadership and management of the quality function at the facility, in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met at the facility.

    Interfaces routinely with all plant functions (engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing), customers and suppliers. Has management responsibilities for the quality department, and reports to the Division Quality Manager and Business Unit Manager(s).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assure quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance. Coordinate TQM efforts across business units.

     

    Identify, develop and implement new methods of quality management and systems, and audit existing systems to meet division initiatives, ISO9000, and other customer requirements.

     

    Provide quality-oriented leadership in achieving facility quality objectives. Interfaces with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive responses and technical assistance regarding quality systems and/or products.

     

    Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance activities for all purchased material, equipment, parts, and processing. Manage supplier quality audits and corrective action plans. Integrate and monitor supplier quality performance with divisional objectives.

     

    Utilize automated systems where available to proactively plan, implement and track quality systems and processes.

     

    Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Working knowledge of AS9100: Demonstrated working knowledge of AS9100, including requirements interpretation, implementation of compliant processes, and participation in internal and external AS9100 audits.

     

    Preferred Six Sigma practical knowledge and/or certification: Six Sigma practical experience strongly preferred; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus, with proven application of data-driven problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

     

    Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function that would typically be obtained through a bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.

     

    Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.

     

    Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.

     

    Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.

    Competitive Compensation

     

    + Pay Range: $120500 to $210950 annually

    + Participation in Annual Incentive Program
